Background
John brings extensive experience supporting stakeholders across the entire healthcare ecosystem with development, commercialization and adoption of new technologies. John combines his reimbursement and health economics expertise with his background in product management and entrepreneurship to apply and translate MCRA insights to the specific business priorities and commercialization needs of our clients.
Education
John received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago and his M.B.A at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Finance, Entrepreneurship, Economics, and Accounting.
Experience
Prior to MCRA, John held a commercialization leadership role at Mayo Clinic implementing a digital health platform strategy, including successful productization and launch of remote diagnostic product lines. In addition to success on the provider side, John gained a breadth of experience across the payer landscape as a Strategy Consultant for Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans, where he supported health plan adoption of genetic testing, artificial intelligence, and precision medicine. John honed his health economics capabilities as Director of Health Economics and Reimbursement at InfoBionic and as an adviser to several health technology startups. In the startup space he developed market entry strategies, and ensured the success of provider customers with reimbursement, coding, revenue cycle, and operational expertise.
As Associate Director, John leads client engagement teams in developing reimbursement landscape assessments, market entry recommendations, business model strategies and financial models. John prioritizes collaboration across MCRA’s RHEMA department to ensure clients are put in the best position to succeed in all stages of the product commercialization lifecycle, including product ideation, fundraising, market entry, growth and diversification.
