MCRA is the leading specialized advisory and clinical research organization (CRO), exclusively servicing the medical device industry in the areas of US and international regulatory, clinical research, reimbursement, intellectual property, quality assurance, manufacturing, and healthcare compliance.
Education
Mr. Lown holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Fordham University.
Experience
MCRA has worked with more than 500 companies, and today averages more than 130 clients annually on approximately 400 projects per year. In this capacity, Mr. Lown leads more than 100 team members and is responsible for the financial, operational and strategic directives of the firm. Under his tenure MCRA has achieved a 12 year CAGR of ~20% with the most recent 5 year CAGR >30%.
Prior to MCRA, Mr. Lown attained significant financial and operational medical device industry experience through various roles with medical device companies, including Spine Solutions, Inc. (acquired by Synthes, Inc. in 2003 for $335 million) and Small Bone Innovations, Inc.(acquired by Stryker Corporation for $365 million). In these roles Mr. Lown led the business development and strategic planning departments, and was directly responsible under the CEO in the acquisition/licensing/distribution partnering of greater than 20 transactions in addition to the eventual acquisition of both entities.
Mr. Lown also has merchant banking, venture capital & private equity investing experience attained through his role at Viscogliosi Brothers, LLC, an industry-focused merchant banking & venture capital firm. Mr. Lown has assumed senior leadership roles in the execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions of numerous sizes and was accountable for the management of capital raising mandates & efforts, as specifically related to active debt & equity principal investments, including legal, tax & accounting structuring & strategy execution.
